Law-enforcement requests

This page is for police and government authorities. If you are a member in danger, go to get help now.

Version 2026-10-20Takes effect when the closed beta opens.

How to contact us

A dedicated email address for law-enforcement requests will be published here before the closed beta opens. We do not accept requests through chat or social media.

What we require

  • Valid legal process for the jurisdiction — for example a US subpoena, court order or warrant, or a UK production order.
  • Specific account identifiers (such as a phone number or profile link) and a clear scope: which information, for which period.
  • Message content only with the legal process the law requires for it.

Emergencies

Where we believe in good faith that there is a risk of death or serious harm to someone, we may disclose the information needed without legal process. The requester must certify the emergency in writing.

Preservation

On a valid preservation request we keep the specified data for a limited time while legal process is obtained, and pause automatic deletion for those records.

What we hold

We deliberately keep little: raw ID and selfie images are deleted 30 days after review, chats after 12 months (or sooner if deleted), and we do not store IP addresses. We may not hold what is asked for.

Telling the member

We tell members when their information is requested, unless the law forbids it or telling them would put someone in danger.

International requests

Requests from other countries must come through mutual legal assistance or another route the law allows.

Reports we make ourselves

We report child sexual exploitation to NCMEC (US) and the National Crime Agency (UK), and threats to life to local police.
