Community guidelines

KobulKabin works only if everyone can trust the person on the other side — and their family. These guidelines are part of our terms. They apply to members, guardians and matchmakers alike.

Version 2026-10-20Takes effect when the closed beta opens.

1. Be here for marriage

KobulKabin is for people who are seriously looking for marriage. No casual dating, no hook-ups, no "just chatting", and no recruiting people for anything else.

2. Be honest

  • Use your real name and photos of you.
  • Tell the truth about your marital status (never married, divorced or widowed), your children, age, where you live, your faith practice, education and work.
  • Never hide an existing marriage. "Already married" is a reason anyone can report.

3. Make contact respectfully

  • Keep interests and messages polite — the kind you would be happy for both families to read.
  • Accept "no" gracefully. Declines are silent by design: an interest simply closes after 14 days.
  • Do not contact someone again after they decline or block you, on KobulKabin or anywhere else.
  • Do not pressure anyone to share their number or to move to WhatsApp, imo or any other app.

4. Respect families and guardians

  • Be courteous to the other side’s guardian. Whenever a guardian joins a chat, a banner shows it to both sides.
  • Never pretend to be someone’s guardian, or act beyond the permission a member gave you.

5. Marriage is a free choice

Nobody may pressure, threaten or trick anyone into marriage — not a match, not a matchmaker, not a family member. If this is happening to you, choose Report → Pressured into marriage. It goes in confidence to a trained member of our team and is never shown to your guardian or family. Our forced marriage help page lists confidential support in your country.

6. Never ask for money

Do not ask anyone for money, gifts, crypto, dowry (joutuk) or "fees" of any kind. KobulKabin and its matchmakers never ask for payment in a chat. If someone asks you, report them.

7. Not allowed, ever

  • Harassment, bullying, threats or stalking.
  • Hate, including sectarian abuse. Sunni, Shia and other Muslims are all welcome here.
  • Sexual content or requests, including asking for private photos or private video calls.
  • Threatening to share someone’s images (sextortion).
  • Anything involving children — we remove it, ban the account and report it to the authorities.
  • Pretending to be someone else, or using fake or stolen photos.
  • Spam, advertising or selling.
  • Sharing links before you have both been ID verified.
  • Anything illegal.

8. Photos

  • Photos must be of you and show your face clearly.
  • Dress modestly. No nudity or sexualised images.
  • No photos of other people’s children, and no screenshots of other members.

9. What happens if the rules are broken

Our enforcement steps
StepWhat it meansExamples
WarningWe tell you which rule you brokeAn impolite message; sharing a number early after a warning
RestrictionSome features are limited for a whileRepeated contact after a decline
SuspensionYour account is paused while we reviewA credible report of an existing marriage
BanYour account is closed and you may not rejoinFraud, threats, sextortion, anything involving children — banned immediately

10. Report and block

You can report or block from any profile or chat in two taps. Reports are confidential: the person is never told who reported them. See how reporting works.

Appeals

  • You can appeal any decision we make about your content or account — a removed photo, a rejected verification, a restriction, a suspension or a ban — and the outcome of a report you made.
  • Use Appeal on the notice in the app. A different member of our team from the one who made the decision reviews it, and we tell you the outcome and the reason.
  • If an automatic check (for example our scam filter) restricted your account, you can ask for a person to look at it.
  • We cannot reinstate accounts banned for anything involving children, or tell you more where that would put someone at risk.
